tormentors dota 2

With the New Frontiers 7.33 update in Dota 2, numerous novelties were introduced to the map, and the return of Tormentors was also marked. These neutral creeps have a crucial role, are important to the team, and are difficult to take down but not impossible.

If you have any questions about Tormentors, we will provide you with a detailed guide that will tell you what Tormentors are and what they are for. In addition, we highly recommend that you try our Dota boost service.

What Exactly are Dota 2 Tormentors?

The Tormentors spawn in two fixed locations on the map. Dota 2 tormentor in red theme summons near Dire's bottom lane's entrance while the Radiant's tormentor spawns at the top lane. One is on the southwest side of the map, and the other is on the northeast edge of the map.

These powerful creeps are located in a safe location and are located by the tier two offlane tower (besides the Wisdom Rune). They are a very valuable asset in the game, and they do not appear until 20 minutes, and after being destroyed, they reappear after 10 minutes. When it cools down, it’s hidden below the pits on the ground.

They only have one health, but it's a regenerating shield that deflects incoming damage to whoever attacks it. The damage will be evenly distributed in a certain radius, whether it's allies or enemies. It can be reflected globally if you are the source of the damage.

What Does Dota 2 Tormentor Enable?

Tormentors are not easy to destroy. They have a few nasty abilities that can hurt you if you're not careful, and your death may soon follow. Two passive abilities, besides the Dota 2 tormentor having 20 armor and 55% Magic resistance, are especially dangerous. The first ability is Unyielding Shield, which hits a 2500 all-damage barrier and regenerates with 100 health per second.

Every time you take down a tormentor, this shield increases by 200 HP. Even more dangerous is the ability to reflect, which affected damage to all heroes within a 1200 radius of the target Dota 2 tormentor. Tormentors not only have good protection but can also deal massive damage. 90% percent of the physical damage dealt is deflected to the area's heroes. With each kill, the reflected damage increases by 20%.

Another passive ability Tormentor possesses is Shining, which, like Radiance's Burn, deals 30 damage to all non-hero units in the same range every second.

What Are the Rewards For Destroying Tormentor?

Since the Tormentors are very powerful, it is difficult to destroy them, but whoever does so will be rewarded greatly. Tormentor rewards a particular group of players with the lowest net worth heroes. Those who take risks profit, so destroying the Dota 2 Tormentor brings rewards.

The team that takes him down gets Aghanim's Shard and 250 team gold. One of the two lowest net worth players without a Shard will earn the effect for free. If everyone on the team already has a Shard, everyone will get 280 gold and experience points. The player who was the bearer in the destruction of Tormentor receives a rich reward of 580 gold.

The Best Time to Take Tormentor

When is the ideal time to take Tormentor? The sooner, the better. If your team is behind, doing this will not be easy. If enemies are trying to steal your Tormentor, you should be ready to fight because Tormentor is very strong, and they will take massive damage trying to kill it. Griffin "Scourge McDuck" Pappert, Div I NA player, founder of The Cut, over 9.5k MMR, and a peak of Rank 34 (currently 43) on the NA Leaderboards, gave his opinion on when to take Tormentor.

"When you’re behind, getting to the enemy's tormentor can be very difficult, so they may get both if you don’t contest yours. The secondary and subsequent spawns are less important. When to take them will depend on whether you or your teammates need an Aghanim’s Shard and how convenient it is for your team to be near one."

How to Take Down Tormentors?

You mostly need more heroes to kill Tormentor, but some heroes can make your job much more manageable and solo destroy a powerful add in Dota 2. These auras are like Pipe or Crimson or heroes with heals and minus armor, like Kottle, Dazzle, Juggernaut, Bristleback, or Templar Assassin.

Like a maxed-out Juggernaut's healing ward, heroes with much sustain can take down a Tormentor in as little as 30 seconds. Bristleback can spam Viscous Nasal until the max stacks and then kill it quickly. It's always good to have some kind of upkeep like Mechansm, Tranquil boots, or healing spells. A Troll Warlord can use Battle trance to prevent himself from dying and completely negate the Tormentor's taking damage.

It's hard to bring all your teammates, but with the mentioned creep heroes, you can destroy the Tormentor on your own. Based on how damage reflection works, items like Solar Crest, Assault Cuirass, and Desolator can be helpful against Tormentor. For example, Assault Cuirass offers good armor and attack speed. Other heroes that you can use as a solo tormentor are Abbadon, Meepo, Phantom Assassin, Sniper, and Wraith King.
